Train Brake Force measurement tester: InterSwiss, Ltd.
Knightronix developed a digital brake force tester with the ability to test brakes on eight freight-car wheels at one time. The system uses a rugged handheld or laptop computer to store the brake force data. Braking ratios are automatically calculated and stored as well. The system greatly simplifies the brake testing required by the Association of American Railroads (AAR). The test requirements are outlined in the AAR "Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices", Section E "Brakes and Brake Equipment", Standard S-401, "Brake Design Requirements".
